ABOUT

Lancaster is an old city in Northwest England and the County Town of the Lancashire. The district has a population of approximately 144,246. Lancaster is an ancient settlement, dominated by Lancaster Castle, Lancaster Priory Church and the Ashton Memorial. Lancashire is home to Lancaster University, The University of Central Lancashire, Edge Hill University and the Lancaster campus of the University of Cumbria. Lancaster remains a major market centre, having one of the largest livestock markets in northwestern England and the city also served for a time as the headquarters of Reebok. 

Lancaster lies on the railway line between southern Lancashire and the city of Carlisle and the major British motorway between the city of Birmingham and Scotland. Lancashire has a highly productive tradition of music-making and lively culture of classical music too. 

Lancaster Castle, on a hilltop in Williamson Park, The Ashton Memorial hosts temporary exhibitions and concerts. You can go for a  relaxing walk in the Lake District, which is world-famous for its natural beauty and The Forest of Bowland, which lies within Lancaster’s city limits. 

If you are in a mood to watch are movies, you can head to The Dukes and The Grand theatre in the city centre.
