Rent can be paid termly in 3 instalments. Full payment of the year's rent can be made at the start of the year if the student does not have a UK-based guarantor. The first rent payment is due no later than the contract commencement date. The remaining payment dates and amounts depend on the selected rental payment plan.

Credit and debit cards are accepted for payments made through the website. Online payments are processed through a secure payment facility hosted by Stripe.

At least one guarantor is required as standard, depending on the property. A guarantor is usually a family member or guardian who guarantees the rent if the tenant cannot pay. International students without a UK guarantor can use Housing Hand as a guarantor service for a fee. Housing Hand's fee varies for each student/property, and students can obtain a free quote. Students without a guarantor must pay the full year's rent in advance or discuss alternative solutions with the property managers.

Change of tenancy fee: £50 per tenancy change if the tenant no longer wants to live in the house after signing the contract. Out-of-hours locked-out fee: £75 per call-out, payable to Castlegate Security Service, if keys are lost or the tenant is locked out before 9:00 am, after 17:30 pm (16:00 on Saturdays), or on Sundays. Housing Hand guarantor fee varies for each student/property. Additional costs apply if gas and electricity usage exceeds the allowance specified in the tenancy agreement.
