About Plymouth College Of Art

Plymouth College of Art was established in 1856 as "Plymouth Drawing School". It was one of the colleges founded by a partnership with the University of Plymouth as "Plymouth College of Art and Design". In 2006, Plymouth College of Art and Design ended its membership in the University of Plymouth's Partner Colleges and became an independent art university providing Higher Education. However, all Plymouth College of Art degrees were accredited by the University of Plymouth until 2007 and by the Open University until 2008. In late 2008, Plymouth College of Art and Design's name was changed to "Plymouth College of Art".

In 2013, Plymouth College of Art founded the city-centre free school that welcomed 4 to 16-year-olds to Plymouth School of Creative Arts.
