About West Drayton

This city in Greater London (England) is located in the United Kingdom, about 24 kilometres west of London, the nation's capital. This is a neighbourhood in London's far western London Borough of Hillingdon. The Grand Union Canal and the Great Western Railway, both of which run east-west, divide the London Borough of Hillingdon. In general, Yiewsley is to the north of this division, and West Drayton lies to the south. The name Draegtun, which means "farmstead at or near a portage or hill used for pulling down cargo," or "farmstead where drays or sledges are employed," was previously used for the region. The Green, a conservation area in the west of the parish, is where the majority of the residential and business buildings as well as student accommodation options are located. With more than 14,000 inhabitants, this small town holds several exhibitions, music festivals, and creative endeavours from fine arts, photography, film-making and music groups.

Additionally, Slough's sights and sounds are only a 10-minute train ride away if you wish to explore them. With no need to change trains, commuters will be able to go to the West End, The City, East End, and other locations with the projected six trains every hour. The main line railroad station also offers consistent service west to Reading, Bristol, and other destinations, as well as east to London Paddington (London Underground Zone 6 with Oyster Card support).
