Broadway Sydney is an approved accommodation provider by Taylors College and UNSW for under 18 students. Being an approved provider means that Broadway has the systems and processes in place to ensure the security and safety of these students who require that extra level of care as minors, providing the students and their parents with the comfort of knowing they are in safe hands.

Our loft style apartments are ideal for those needing that little extra room. This apartment type is spread out over two levels providing an open bedroom upstairs and living area downstairs creating a great space for a single occupant. The unit is self-contained and is equipped with a kitchenette which provides a microwave, bar fridge and sink, study desk and chair, television, wardrobe, single or double bed and private ensuite. Depending on the unit size, some will also come with a dining table and chair and casual seating. All loft style apartments have heating and cooling, some with air-conditioning.

There are a limited number of recently refurbished units available for minimum 12 month terms that provide all the inclusions of the loft style apartments. Be sure to ask for a refurbished unit when applying but be quick as these units will not last long.

The Balcony Bunk provides accommodation for two occupants and is more of a two bedroom apartment. It is a Loft style unit which provides the open bedroom upstairs and a bedroom downstairs to give you that little bit extra privacy. You and a friend will enjoy the space provided in this room, the living room is downstairs along with the study area, kitchenette and bathroom and there is the added benefit of a large balcony to enjoy that famous Sydney weather. The unit is self- contained and is equipped with a kitchenette including a microwave, fridge and sink, dining table and chairs, study desk and chair for each student, sofa and television, wardrobe, two beds and private ensuite. All Balcony Bunk apartments have heating and cooling and a very limited number with air-conditioning.

How much money do I have to pay upfront before I move in?

Once your completed Application has been approved, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with all the information needed to pay a $600 holding deposit.  This deposit will need to be paid immediately to secure your apartment.  Seven days prior to your Contract commencement date you will need to pay the balance of your security deposit which is equal to four weeks rent and the first two weeks rent in advance.

What does my weekly fee include?

What contracts are available?

There are two main contracts available for residents: 26 weeks Contracts will expire no earlier than 12 February 2019 52 weeks Contracts will expire no earlier than 10 July 2019 Short term stays are subject to availability.

Will wireless internet connection be available?

There is Wi-Fi throughout the residential floors and entry foyer.  Access is available once you have connected to the buildings internet provider, VostroNet.

Why would a claim be made against my Security Deposit?

The Owner is entitled to be reimbursed any costs incurred if you have failed any term(s) or conditions in your Licence to Occupy.  As mentioned, the Owner cannot claim for fair wear and tear of items or fittings.  If you have any concerns about what is being claimed, please contact us as the vast majority of these sorts of issues can be quickly resolved.

How can I get connected to the Internet?

Upon arrival, you can sign up for a Wi-Fi internet connection with our building internet provider, VostroNet. Unlimited Data is included in your weekly fee. Upgrade options are available directly through the provider. Packages can be viewed here.

How close is the nearest supermarket?

There is a major shopping centre across the road from UniLodge on Broadway Sydney, approximately 20 metres from our doorstep.

How much is car parking?

UniLodge on Broadway Sydney charges a monthly fee of $240 + GST for a private parking space in our secure car park.

Is there extra storage outside my apartment?

There are no extra storage spaces at UniLodge on Broadway Sydney.

Do you have any deals for students with any retail shops, restaurants or gyms?

Many of our in-house retail shops offer a 10% discount to UniLodge residents.

Can I make a special request for certain flatmates to share with?

 When you make a reservation with UniLodge on Broadway Sydney please notify the Customer Service staff of your request.

How does my mail get to me?

Your mail arrives Monday to Friday and is placed in your locked letterbox in the basement area. You will be given a key to your letterbox when you arrive.

If I really want to move apartments after I move in is that possible?

It would depend on the availability of other apartments.  An apartment move fee of $110.00 applies

How can I pay for my fees or phone bill?

During your stay with us, your occupancy fees will be paid through Direct Debit. You will be given an authorisation form to complete at the time of signing your License to Occupy. Alternative arrangements can be made in special circumstances and this will need to be discussed with the Customer Service Team when you arrive. Unfortunately, we do not accept cash.

Do you have maps of Sydney?

Yes, we have city maps available for you at Reception as well as brochures of Sydney tourist attractions and local events. Our staff can also respond to any questions and help out with any suggestions or directions you may need.

What should I do when I have a visitor?

You are required to advise Reception in advance of any visitors who are staying overnight.  It is essential we know exactly who is in the building at all times in case of an emergency.  A maximum of a 2-week visit is permitted and each visitor staying over is required to fill out a Visitor Form available from Reception and sign in and out of the Visitors Register during their stay. Under 18 Residents have special conditions.

Are there ovens to use on site?

There is a microwave oven to use in every apartment and also a fully equipped communal kitchen on every level including gas grillers, hot plates and ovens.

What is a Security Deposit?

A Security Deposit is an amount of money that you need to pay as a form of security, in case you deliberately or accidentally damage the unit during your stay or leave it unclean when you vacate.  The funds are held separately from your rent and will only be used to reimburse the owner of the unit you live in at the end of your stay.    Allowances will always be made for fair wear and tear but if you damage a wall, for example, during your stay and it remains unrepaired at the end of your stay, the cost of carrying out these repairs will be deducted from your Security Deposit.
Separate to your Security Deposit, a Departure Cleaning fee is paid at the beginning of your stay.  This fee will cover the cost of a general clean of all surfaces at the end of your stay but not the cost of additional steam cleaning carpets that are stained during your stay, the cost of cleaning the walls, ceilings, curtains and soft furnishings if you smoke in your unit.  The cost of these examples would be deducted from your Security Deposit if necessary.
The majority of Security Deposits are refunded in full as most students vacate leaving their unit clean and tidy with no damage.

How much is the Security Deposit?

All Security Deposits are the equivalent to four weeks occupancy fees.  If you decide to change rooms and your occupancy fee is increased, you will need to top up your Security Deposit so that it is always equal to four weeks occupancy fees.

Paying the Security Deposit?

All Security Deposits need to be paid with the first fortnights' fees, seven (7) days prior to your arrival.  Both are paid electronically using the account details given to you in your Letter of Offer or by credit card (surcharges apply).

What is a Condition Report?

When you pay a Security Deposit, we must prepare a Condition Report, which records the general condition, including fittings and fixtures, of the unit before you move in.  This report is then given to you at the time you move into your new home.  During the first two days of your stay, you will need to complete the report by either agreeing or not agreeing with the assessment of the unit adding your comments, if any, to the report.
When you return this report you will be sent a copy for your records and it will be kept in your file until you move out.  When this happens, we will use your completed report to compare the unit when you move out to when you moved in, allowing for fair wear and tear.
The Condition Report is an extremely important document, as it can be used as evidence if there is a dispute about who should pay for cleaning, damage or replacement of missing items at the end of the occupancy.
You may want to take photos of your apartment at the start of your tenancy to further show the condition and if you have any concerns you should raise them as soon as you see them so they can be noted.
This report will also ensure you are not held liable for any damage that may have been caused by others prior to you moving in.
If you are unsure how to complete the report, we will happily go through it with you.

What happens when I vacate?

You need to leave your apartment clean and tidy, and ensure all personal items have been removed and report any damage that may have been caused during your tenancy.  A few weeks before you are due to move out you will receive a reminder of the cleaning you will need to do and how to leave the unit.  You will also be given a form to complete which will give us all the details we need to return your Security Deposit.

How do I receive my Security Deposit back?

At the end of your stay and after you have returned the keys to the unit, we will undertake a final inspection using your completed Condition Report.  Provided there is no damage and the cleaning is sufficient, the Security Deposit will be processed and released within 21 days of your leaving.  If we need to organise cleaning and repairs, it may take a little longer.
The Security Deposit will be deposited into whichever account you have nominated on your Security Deposit Refund Form.  We are unable to transfer these funds to a credit card but can send the funds overseas (fees apply).
