Highbury College


Highbury College is a further education college located in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The college provides education from first-step courses to foundation degrees and Certificates in Higher Education. Portsmouth college History traces back to Portsmouth and Gosport School of Science and the Arts, which was founded in 1870. The institute was renamed as the Portsmouth municipal college in the year 1908. The municipal college was designated as a regional college in 1950 by the department of education and science, and further renamed as the Portsmouth College of Technology. Highbury College was opened on 17 September 1963 as Highbury Technical College. For the use of up-to-date technology and improving teaching and learning the Times Educational Supplement FE Award has shortlisted the Highbury College. The college caters more than 28,000 students. The college offers foundation courses in Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Health and Human Sciences, Sociology, Psychology.

Highbury Campus - 

The new Highbury campus located in Tudor Crescent, Portsmouth was established in 2009 to enhance student learning through the use of modern and up-to-date technology and facilities. The campus provides 160-seat performing arts theatre, digital recording studio, student recreation area, specialist area for floristry and Healthcare suite and many other facilities so that students can have the best learning experience. 

Highbury Northarbour centre- 

Highbury Northarbour Centre located on unit one, Harbourgate- Southampton road, was opened in 2004 and is a modern centre which offers specialist training in construction crafts and building services. Highbury Northarbour Centre boasts dedicated training workshops and facilities for each discipline and also the latest work-related teaching environments.

Highbury Arundel Centre 

Highbury Arundel Centre is located close to Southsea central train station. The centre offers a range of training, nursery facilities and adult education. It also provides a radio station for local people and college students to broadcast their own programme- known as Express FM.

Highbury college provides Stagecoach or First provincial bus passes, and you can get them at a discounted price. These passes are valid Monday to Friday during the term.

Student life
