England's entire transportation infrastructure has the potential to be among the finest on the planet. Kirkstall has two main modes of transportation: railway and bus. Students can use them to reach Kirkstall's nearest cities, Leeds and Bradford, once they get to either of the cities. There is a multitude of transportation systems available.
Metro
Metro offers M-cards to young people aged 16 to 25 in Leeds and West Yorkshire. This card allows students to travel on several buses and trains in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and the Yorkshire Dales without purchasing multiple tickets. However, there are no metros in Bradford and Kirkstall.
Bus
In Kirkstall, there are multiple buses which would take students to different cities and towns like Bradford, Leeds, Halifax, Bramley, and more. A single-day ticket in Leeds costs about £4.30; they also offer unlimited student travel, and over 100 buses constantly run up and down the City of Bradford 24 hours a day. At Bradford Interchange, near the city centre, students can board buses that link to all of England's national routes.
Trains
Kirkstall is served by two railway lines: the Bradford line, which travels up the Aire Valley and has a station at Kirkstall Forge, and the Harrogate line, which passes nearby and has a station a few minutes walk from the town centre. Trains run from Leeds Central Station to Headingley. While in Bradford, the Bradford Forster Square Station connects to several destinations, including London, Leeds, and Halifax. Remember to use 16-25 Railcard to get lower fares.
Cycling
The Leeds and Liverpool Canal also runs close to the river through Kirkstall and is utilised as walking, cycling, and running trail.
