Located in Bristol, the United Kingdom, the University of Bristol, also known as Bristol University, is a red brick research university whose roots can be traced back to 1595. Established in the year 1876, the University of Bristol is the successor of the Merchant Venturers School and the University College, Bristol. Due to the financial help from the Wills and Fry families, the university was able to apply for a royal charter. Later on, in the year 1909, the University College received its royal charter from the King and was renamed as the University of Bristol. 

Catering about 24,000 students from around the world every year, the University of Bristol offers a broad range of both Postgraduate and undergraduate degrees across six faculties, out of which the university particularly stands for Medical Science, Art, and Engineering.

The University of Bristol is divided across two campuses- Clifton Campus and Langford Campus.

Located at Senate House, Tyndall Ave, Clifton Campus, is where all the majority of teaching takes place. Bordered to the south by Park Row and to the north by Tyndalls Parks Road and the HH Wills Memorial Building, the Clifton campus is home to the 8th-century estate of the Tyndall family- Royal Fort Gardens and the School of Physics which is based at the HH Wills Building. The campus spans from the Victorian villas of tree-lined Priory Road, which houses the Faculty of Arts to the newly opened Life Sciences Building. The Richmond Building, which is just a short stroll from the main campus and Park Street, houses the Bristol Students' Union. The Clifton campus is well-served by rail and bus routes. The 8 and 9 buses run from Bristol Temple Meads station to the university every 6-minutes during rush-hours. Also, Bristol's coach station is just a 6-minutes drive from the campus.

Spread across 630 acres of land, the Langford campus is located 14 miles south of Bristol on the border of the Mendip Hills in the rural village of Langford. Home to Bristol Veterinary School and Langford Vets, the campus is just 33-minutes drive away from the Bristol city centre. Students can travel between the main campus in Bristol and Langford campus via U2 bus service, which runs hourly between 8 am and 6 pm on weekdays.
