If you want to pay your rent in three instalments, you’ll need a UK-based guarantor (not Edinburgh). This is someone who lives and works in the UK and is willing to sign a contract saying they’ll pay your rent if you fail to do so. The property will run a credit check on your guarantor – if they happen to fail The property will get in touch about what to do next. Your guarantor cannot be another student or a government.
