The transport options in Sheffield City Centre for students are taxis, trams, trains, and buses. Students can travel anywhere around the city by bus and train. The city has a good and active transport system. We have listed the most used and economical modes of transport along with some companies that operate buses and trams.
1. Bus
Stagecoach and First are the two leading bus companies in South Yorkshire. Arundel Gate and Pond Street are the locations of Sheffield's two bus interchanges (also known as bus terminals). Buses take between 10 and 20 minutes to travel from these locations to the university.
2. Tram Train
Stagecoach runs the tram system in Sheffield and Rotherham under the name Supertram. Nearly all of the buildings on the main campus of the University of Sheffield are within walking distance of the tram stop, which is located on Upper Hanover Street. Every 12 minutes, direct trams run from Sheffield station to the University of Sheffield.
3. Cycle
Cycling is another inexpensive and healthy mode of commuting for students. Students can rent the cycle and explore the nearby neighbourhoods on a cycle. There are some routes designed only for cycling so that one can avoid vehicular traffic.
