What happens if I Don't Get a Place at University?

If you're a first-year prospective undergraduate student and your offer at your preferred higher education institute is withdrawn, we may be able to release you from your tenancy agreement if: You find a suitable replacement to take a new tenancy agreement for the rest of your tenancy. This person must: be at least 18 years old and enrolled as a full-time student in a university close to the accommodation; enter into a tenancy agreement with us and pay all sums due within it; and provide a guarantor where reasonable, who must accept the terms and conditions set out in the tenancy agreement you provide a written rejection letter from your chosen higher education institute and you provide a copy of the acceptance letter from your new higher education institute.  

What are the  COVID-19 Updated Policy for 20/21 Bookings ?

 in these uncertain times, we understand that you may be hesitant to book your home for next year, so to help you with making this decision, we at Hello Student have made allowance over and above our normal cancellation policy to protect you and allow you to cancel any booking made for September 2020 if any of the below apply .Your course start date is delayed, well put back the start of your tenancy to match the starting month of your course. You must inform us   at least one week before your original check-in date, otherwise you will be liable for the full costs associated with the original tenancy. World Health Organisation recommendations and decisions around Coronavirus advise that you do not travelIf your Visa processing is delayed then our normal cancellation policy will apply.If you decide to defer your course until September 2021, we can transfer your booking to the next academic year. What are the Requirements During Moving In?

Your passport, passport-sized photos, ID and visa. You'll need these to enroll with your university, join societies, and get a part-time job (if you want one).

Bedding unless youre lucky enough to live in one of our Conran Shop Executive Rooms.

Kitchen utensils.

Decorations and personal things that make your room feel like home.

Clothes of all types from lounging around, to going to lectures, to nights out, to formal balls. Oh, and coat hangers.

If youre bringing electrical items, bring extension leads, and a UK plug converter too.

Bike, helmet, bicycle repair kit. A bikes a cheap, environmentally-friendly way to get around your new city. We have free bike storage at almost all our properties, too.

A first aid kit plasters, sterile dressings, that kind of thing. Just in case.

Your friends and family are more than welcome to stay. But while theyre here, theyll be your responsibility. So careful! If they cause damage to the property, or disruption for people living with you, then thats on you. Extensive stays (thats longer than a week) arent allowed though sorry.

Who can live here?

Any full-time student (minimum 16 hours per week) enrolled in a university or college, who is 18 years of age or older on the date they submit the application form.

What is the contract length?

A variety of contract lengths are offered from short term summer and semester stays and longer academic year stays. Some semester stays may be available so please enquire with our bookings team.

What is included in the room rate?

All utility bills (water, lights, and electricity), 100Mb internet access, 24 hour security, contents insurance and gym access at specific sites only.

Can I choose my room in the building?

Normally rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis. You can specify any special requests at the time of your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you in that room.

Is there somewhere to store my bike?

Yes, all residences have secure bike storage available free to residents.

Do you have extra storage for suitcases?

If students need to arrive earlier than the check-in time on their contract start date, it is fine to leave suitcases with the Reception team until it's time to check-in. However, there is no storage space at any of the  residences, and any luggage is left at your own risk.

What furniture is in my room?

All rooms are standardized and have the same high-quality furniture throughout.

What are the guest policies?

Residences are your home so you are allowed to have friends and family visit you when you want, we just ask that you respect your fellow residents and sign your guests in and out of the buildings so we know who is in the building in case of an emergency.

Is there a curfew?

No, you can come and go as you please. 24-hour security will be available to welcome you at the front door.

Can I smoke in my room?

No. You may smoke outside in designated smoking areas.

Will I have a phone in-room?

Phones are not provided in-room, however Ask4 have provided VOIP telecoms which is available using your laptop and allows residents to call home at discounted rates.

Will I have a TV in-room?

No, however flat screen TVs are provided in all communal areas and IPTV is available to stream on your laptop.
