You can pay your full year in advance or they can break it down into 3 termly instalments with an initial payment. You must advise  when you secure your room which option you would like so they can set it out in your payment plan in your Tenancy Agreement.

Do I need a guarantor?

Yes, if you wish to pay in instalments you must have a guarantor. The guarantor must be a UK resident & in full time employment. They are named on and will countersign your Tenancy Agreement and are legally responsible to ensure you comply with the terms of your contract including paying any rent or costs. Your Guarantor will be required to pass a formal credit check with the property's referencing company before they can be accepted. They will be asked to provide detailed information to prove affordability, including details for their own income and you should let them know this in advance to avoid any embarrassment.
If you do not have a guarantor, eg, if you are an international student, you can still live at a management scheme but full payment in advance is required.

Which bills are included in the rent?

Your rent includes heating, electric & water costs. Broadband internet connection is also included, subject to a fair usage policy.

What about Council Tax?

All residents are required to be full time students and on this basis qualify for Council Tax exemption. You will need to contact the Council to obtain your own exemption certificate and a copy must be given to the property team!

Do I need a TV License?

You are responsible for purchasing a TV Licence for the TV in your room. They will obtain the necessary licenses for communal TVs.

Do I need contents insurance?

The property recommends you take out adequate cover for all of your personal belongings. Specialist student contents products are available.

Can I share with my friends?

Yes, just let them know their names when you apply and make sure they do the same and they will allocate you rooms together. Unfortunately, they cannot guarantee all share requests, the earlier you apply the better.

What do I need to bring when I move in?

Bedding & Towels dont forget to check the bed size, most of beds are three-quarter double (which is 4 ft), but The Bridewell is mainly standard double (which is 4ft 6in).
Kitchen Equipment they supply the cookers, microwaves, kettles and kitchen sink! You will need to bring your own equipment for cooking and crockery, cutlery.
Housekeeping they supply a vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, mop and bucket and an ironing board for your convenience. You will need to bring your own iron, washing up equipment, laundry powders and cleaning products. Dont forget your loo rolls!
Your own personal belongings whatever you need to make you comfortable. There are a few items not allowed at accommodation, these are listed in the code of conduct as well as your tenancy agreement and include candles, oil burners, tea lights, oil heaters, fairy lights, deep fat fryers or chip pans, laser pens and also any large items of furniture or equipment.
