Student Housing Birmingham City University


Birmingham City University also known as BCU is a public university located in the city of Birmingham, England. Established in the year 1843 under the name of "Birmingham College of Art", the BCU was later on designated as a polytechnic in the year 1971. 

The City of Birmingham Polytechnic was born due to the merger between five colleges which included Birmingham College of Commerce, South Birmingham Technical College, North Birmingham Technical College, Birmingham College of Art, and Birmingham School of Music. Later on, the BCU received its university status in the year 1992.

The Birmingham City University currently caters over 24,000 students while offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, out of which particularly recommended ones include Media, Art, and Health. 


Birmingham City University has a total of two campuses:

  • City Centre Campus: The City Centre Campus is the flagship campus of the Birmingham City University located in the heart of Birmingham. Built as a part of the Eastside project- City Centre Campus is home to Curzon Building, Millennium Point, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Parkside Building, University House and Joseph Priestley Building. 
  • City South Campus: Located on Westbourne Road, the City South Campus of Birmingham City University constitutes of Ravensbury House, Seacole Building and Bevan House. Apart from this, the campus is also home to the Faculty of Life Sciences, Health and Education.
