How do I book an arrival time?

So they can prepare for your arrival and help you move into your new apartment as soon as possible, you must let them know your desired date and time of arrival.

This can be done via your portal two weeks before your tenancy begins with them. There will also be a link in your arrival email which you will receive closer to the time of your tenancy begin date.

When you arrive please make your way to reception and a member of their team will check you in.

ARRIVING AFTER CHECK-IN WEEKEND (DURING OFFICE HOURS):

Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00

Please press the intercom button marked ‘Reception’ to the right of the main entrance doors. This will alert the team of your presence and they will come and meet you, check you in, and hand over your keys.

ARRIVING AFTER CHECK-IN WEEKEND (OUTSIDE OF OFFICE HOURS):

Mon-Fri 17:00-09:00 / All day Saturday-Sunday

When you arrive, you will need to call the security helpdesk using the telephone number telling them you wish to check in to The Warehouse Apartments. They will then instruct the out-of-hours team to come and let you in and hand you your keys.

On the next working day, please make your way to their reception to meet with the site team so that they can provide you with a fire drill update and provide further information on the building, etc.

Can I check in outside of site team hours?

Yes, of course. They understand that you might need to check in at any time of the day – that’s why they have 24/7 service over the check-in period. However, must notify them of your arrival if you plan to arrive outside of these hours.

PLEASE NOTE: The check-in process is slightly different for arrivals outside of Warehouse Hours 09:00-17:00, including weekends EXCEPT for check-in weekend.

What do I need to bring with me to check in and collect my keys?

Provided you have completed all of the steps outlined in the ‘What do I need to do to prepare for moving in?’ tab above, all you need to bring with you to collect your new key is:

  • A copy of the first page of your tenancy agreement
  • Photo ID (e.g., a passport or driving license)

Are guests permitted to stay overnight?

Overnight guests are permitted at the property; they ask that you respect their rule of welcoming guests for no more than three consecutive evenings. They strongly recommend that you discuss any plans with your flatmates beforehand. Not everyone is comfortable with finding strangers in their home such as in the communal kitchen and lounge, but a little forewarning can help to ease any conflict. Please note that you are responsible for any guests, including liability for any charges as a result of damages to the building caused by your guest.

Do I need to pay council tax?

Students can be exempt from paying council tax while in full-time education, but you need to apply for a student discount/exemption. Please as it is your responsibility to understand what your personal situation is to pay council tax.While they are happy to assist where they can, Property is unable to provide advice on your personal situation or be held liable for any payments or council tax statements that you receive.

What happens if my student loan does not arrive before my rent payment is due?

If, for any reason, your student loan does not arrive in time to make your rent payment, please do not worry – they can amend the dates for you without any hassle or extra charges. To do this, they just need to see proof from the Student Loans Company (or similar) that this is the case. They expect this usually to be in the form of an official letter or email communication from the Student Loans Company (or similar).
