There is a vacuum cleaner on site to use and return. if the bag in full please let the property team know and they will replace it.

Please notify the property team as soon as you have misplaced or lost your key/fob, so they can cancel your fob. They will then reissue a new key to you for £20.06/fob £6.36.

You can report maintenance through your online portal, or for emergencies out of hours please call the OOH Team, details given on arrival.

How do I access my room?

You can access your room with your Fob/key issued to you when you check in.

How does the door lock deadbolt work?

With a Key and inside the door there is a thumb turn.

How to my appliances work (microwave, hob, fridge, heater)?

They have digital user guides available upon request. Most room heaters have a dial for how much heat you would prefer and a booster button on the wall, other heaters have a dial on the heater for heat/temperature control.

How do I keep my room clean. Do you offer a cleaning service?

The cleaning of your room is your responsibility however, the on site property team can provide a cleaning advice whenever needed but they do not offer a cleaning service.

How do I get rid of limescale?

There are many limescale remover products out there. A natural product approach would be to apply vinegar or lemon juice directly onto a cloth and scrub the limescale until it comes away. Alternatively, mix one part lemon juice or vinegar to four parts water. Put the solution in a spray bottle and spritz it onto tiles and plugholes. Leave this to soak for up to an hour for stubborn scale deposits. The on-site team can also advise.

What do I do with my rubbish/recycling?

Take your rubbish to the bins in the bin store located in the courtyard at the rear of the building, please ensure to separate general waste and recycling and dispose of in the correct bin.

Am I allowed to smoke in my room?

No, smoking is prohibited anywhere on site.

What time should I avoid making noise?

Try to keep noise to a minimum, especially after 10.30pm and before 8am - if you can hear your music outside of your room, then the chances are that everyone else can too.

Do I have to pay Council Tax?

If you are a full time student, you can request a council tax exemption form from your University. You need to upload your council tax exemption form to your Collegiate UK Portal to avoid any charges. As a resident, you are generally exempt from paying Council Tax, but some councils may charge residents outside of term time. It is your responsibility to check if you will be charged if you stay at the residence during holiday periods.

Do I need a TV Licence?

You need to be covered by a TV Licence to watch TV channels live on any TV service or streaming service - such as ITVX, Channel 4, Amazon Prime Video, Now or Sky Go. You don't need a TV Licence if you only ever watch on demand programmes on any TV service apart from BBC iPlayer.

The communal areas are cleaned between 8am - 12noon on weekdays.

Each studio has an individual wall mounted heater that is controlled via a central hand held programmer which sets the background and boost temperature.  You can activate the boost button in your room to increase the temperature.

Bonhay House shares a residence experience programme with Point Exe and events are advertised on the target screen and weekly newsletter.

What facilities does the accommodation have?

Laundry Room shared with Point Exe with 5 industrial washers, and 5 industrial dryers. We have a refuse area, located in the bin store for general waste and one for recycling. We have post boxes on the ground floor by the entrance for each apartments letters. We have 24/7 CCTV and a 24/7 Security Team on call. We have an accommodation office located at our Point Exe site for the use of residents living at Bonhay House which is open between the hours of 9am and 6pm, with our accommodation officers available to answer any questions you have and take in your parcels/letters from couriers.

There is a communal area in the Courtyard.

Is there a gym onsite or where is the most local one?

There is no gym on site. There is a gym and swimming pool on Streatham Campus and a gym located in Fore Street just 15 minutes walk away.

How many friends can I invite in?

One guest is welcome to stay for up to 3 consecutive nights per week. You must let the accommodation team know of any guests staying overnight in your room. Additional consideration should be applied when using shared areas, to avoid inconveniencing other residents.

Bonhay's location is probably the best thing about the facility. I love it made my life much more relaxed and comfortable. Exeter railway station was just a cab or bus away you could be there in just 10-15 minutes which made travelling really easy.
