Security Deposit

2. Once paid, your deposit is protected by a government-approved deposit protection scheme for the duration of your tenancy. Please note that this deposit cannot be used towards your rent instalments.

3. At the end of your tenancy, the deposit will be returned to you: subject to the terms of your contract, after a room inspection. Any deductions for damages or outstanding charges will be outlined in your tenancy agreement. Refunds can take up to 28 working days to process.

4. Your deposit is securely held by a recognised scheme, such as the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (England and Wales) or Safe Deposits Scotland. You’ll receive an email with your deposit repayment ID, which you’ll need to authorise your refund and provide your bank details.

Please note:

1. All refunds are issued in GBP, and additional fees may apply if you're using a non-UK bank account.

2. Prestige Student Living cannot influence the deposit refund process. For queries regarding your repayment ID or refund status, contact the relevant deposit protection scheme directly.

Pay In Instalment

1. If you have a UK guarantor, you're eligible to pay your rent in three instalments, with the first payment due three weeks before your check-in date.

2. If you do not have a UK guarantor, you’ll need to pay your rent in full at least six weeks before your tenancy start date.

Please ensure that all rent due has been paid before you arrive to check in.


Note: In some cases, alternative instalment plans may be available. Please contact property management to discuss your options.

You can pay your rent using any of the following methods:

Online: Log in to your student account and make a secure payment through property's web portal (recommended).

At the Property: Pay in person at the property reception desk.

By Phone: Contact the property team directly to make a payment over the phone.

Bank Transfer: Payments can be made via bank transfer. Please include your full name and student ID as the payment reference. Note that international transfers may incur additional charges from your bank, so please account for this when making payment.

To request our bank details or confirm payment instructions, please contact your property team.

Please Note: Important Payment Information:

1. You will never be asked to make a payment to any bank account other than the official one provided by your property team.

2. Cash payments are not accepted under any circumstances.

Guarantor Requirement

A. The property requires you to have a valid UK Guarantor if you wish to pay in installments.

B. If you are unable to provide your own UK Guarantor, the property recommends the service of Housing Hand.

C. The property does not accept international guarantors.

For AY 25-26 & AY 26-27:


Dual occupancy is available for most rooms that are 23sqm or larger. Both applicants must apply separately and clearly state in their applications that they are requesting dual occupancy.The total rent will be calculated as the standard room rate plus an additional £50 per week, then split evenly between both occupants, unless specified otherwise.

INTERNATIONAL VISA APPLICANTS ONLY

Before the Tenancy Start Date

1. If you are unable to obtain a UK visa and your tenancy has not yet started, you may be eligible to cancel your tenancy agreement without penalty and receive a full refund of your deposit, provided that:

2. You send an email from the email address used for booking to your property’s email address (if already in residence),

confirming that your visa application has been unsuccessful and that you wish to cancel your booking. Include your full name and property details.

3. You attach the official visa refusal notice issued by UK Visas & Immigration.

4. These documents must be received within 3 calendar days of receiving your visa refusal notification and no later than 20th September for bookings for the upcoming academic year.

Note: If this documentation is not received within the timeframe or after your tenancy has started, you will remain liable for the rent until a suitable replacement tenant is found and the room is successfully re-let.

After the Tenancy Start Date

If you have not collected your keys:

1. You will be held rent liable until a suitable replacement tenant is found and approved by the landlord.

2. If your visa is revoked after moving in:

a) You must notify the property team within 48 hours of receiving the official notice by emailing to your property email address.

b) You will need to provide:

The official revocation notice from UK Visas & Immigration, and a letter from your university confirming your release from studies.

Once verified, next steps regarding your tenancy will be communicated by the property team.

No Place No Pay

For First-Year Undergraduate and Postgraduate Applicants

If you are a prospective first-year undergraduate or postgraduate student and your offer of a place at your chosen university or higher education institution is withdrawn due to not meeting the required entry grades, you may be eligible for a full release from your tenancy agreement. To qualify:

1. You must provide written confirmation from your university or UCAS (such as a rejection letter or a screenshot showing your UCAS status)

2. This evidence must be submitted within 3 calendar days of your results being published and no later than 28th August (whichever comes first)

3. You must send your cancellation request from the email address used to your property’s email address if already in residence

4. If you're choosing to attend a different university due to exceeding your expected grades, you may also be eligible for cancellation. In this case, you must provide proof of acceptance at the new university via UCAS Adjustment.

5. Once your documentation has been received and verified, your tenancy will be cancelled without penalty, and your deposit will be refunded in full within 30 days.

For Second-Year and Returning Students

1. Once your booking is confirmed and the security deposit has been paid, your tenancy agreement becomes legally binding.

2. You may cancel your booking within a 7-day cooling-off period from the date of booking. To do so:

Please note: Deposit refunds may take several weeks, depending on the status of the deposit within the Tenancy Deposit Scheme.

Replacement Tenant Accepted

If your tenancy has already started and you have not collected your keys, you will remain liable for rent until a suitable replacement tenant is secured.

If your visa is revoked after you have collected the keys, you must inform the property team within 48 hours of receiving official notification, either by emailing property management or your property’s designated email address if you are already in residence.

You must provide written or emailed confirmation of the visa revocation, including official documentation from UK Visas & Immigration and a letter from your University confirming your release.

In such cases, you will not be able to stay in the property; however, you will remain rent liable until a suitable replacement tenant is found or until the end of any applicable legal notice period under current legislation.

Does my rental price include car parking?

On-site car parking is available at some properties, but is not included within the rental price unless explicitly stated and confirmed in writing. Payments for car parking permits are separate to your tenancy agreement. Please speak to the property team if you wish to purchase a car parking space. Car parking spaces are very limited and are strictly on a first-come first-served basis.

Can I book if I’m under 18?

If you turn 18 in the first semester of university, they can accept your booking at properties where there is 24/7 security available and have an adult over the age of 18 must be a co-signatory on your tenancy agreement and must accept the terms of it.

They can accept under 18s in some of their properties subject to their Policy for Students under the Age of 18.

Can I purchase bedding and kitchen packages?

Yes you can order a package to be waiting for you upon arrival on their starter kit ordering portal.

What do I need to bring with me?
